Here Be Dragons
A title image I created for a report on the insects of a local nature reserve. A digicam photograph was taken of a dragon carved out of a tree trunk in the reserve. The gamma is slightly enhanced but the colours are essentially natural, the green being algal coating that has grown on parts of the surface. The image was duplicated, flipped horizontally and stitched together to make a symmetrical image. A title was added in a fancy "Blair Witch" style font using a texture derived from part of the image. Top and bottom borders were then added using a seamless pattern created from a portion of the teeth of the dragon.
