Mountain Lake
As a small Christmas present to myself, I bought a copy of Xtras 2 for Paint Shop Pro, a collection of additional tubes, frames, masks etc. including some so-called "instant landscape" tubes - the main attraction for me. There is also a simple tutorial on the CD for the latter, which forms the basis of this image, with a few additional refinements by myself. Everything in this image is created using the instant landscape tubes - sky, mountains, trees, reflections, ground, moss, water - the lot. The only extra work entailed a little blurring, layer blending, and in some of my additions ripple effects and further spraybrush and tube effects on the water to transform the otherwise perfect mirror image into something slightly more natural for a wind-ruffled surface as I imagine this to be. Although this image is highly derivative of the basic tutorial on the CD, I thought I would include it here for the benefit of those who may not have come across the Xtras 2 package for PSP 7.
